Bryan Gallinger, born on 4-4-1975 in Puyallup, WA was raised in a smaller logger community (Hoquiam, WA) till 1991 but moved back to Puyallup, WA where he finished at Rogers HS. Bryan then attended Pierce Community, Green River Community and U of W Colleges studying Business but never completed a 4-year degree. “I knew in high school that I didn’t need a degree so I enjoyed my education from college but clearly desired to be an entrepreneur. I believe for people like myself that jobs are great leveraging tools to temporarily make money, network, gain experience and knowledge but they are not a long-term resolution for a large population of people like me.” - BG
Bryan has always had almost equal desires to be an entertainer/performer and to be an entrepreneur. So not sure what the future had in store, he began pursuing both avenues. One of Bryan’s larger strengths is the ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at a time. Another skill he displays is above average people skills and communication/leadership. These skills are great to have in the entertainment industry and to manage people running companies.
Bryan had a vividly clear vision to build a powerful entertainment and business community filled with like-minded positive/ambitious people with passions for entertainment/business/philanthropy. Immediately after high school, Bryan started the Grassroots Network as a live event production company throwing various concerts, festivals and events throughout the greater Puget Sound. Bryan teamed up with high school friend Josh Schaapveld to throw an elaborate Graduation Party, which marked the unofficial launch of The Grassroots Network. This party included a beach volleyball court, multiple grass volleyball courts, a 4000 sq ft casino, bonfires, industrial fair size grills and beverage dispensers, boxing rings, stages with live music and more. Dozens of parents volunteered as staff to run the event and hundreds of graduating students attended in addition to friends, family and other classmates.
1994, Bryan decided to pursue modeling in addition to music, therefore began a strict health and fitness program. After many years of little catalog photography jobs, he took a chance and moved to Milan Italy. Years later he began going back and forth to London, Milan and Los Angeles where he did work as VJ with MTV. After learning a lot and developing some great contacts, he decided to move back to WA State where he could really focus on building The Grassroots Network. Bryan had burning desires to be an actor but quickly and humbly learned that he was not blessed with the talent of acting so after a few small roles, a few acting classes and a lot of failed auditions.
Approximately every 1.5 years GRN developed a new division within its business and continues to grow this way. “Sometimes it is better to produce the work you need in-house then to hire another company and hope they fulfill your vision and quality of work.’’ – Bryan Gallinger. 1999 he launched a public access TV show called iXtreem TV. This broadcast was a magazine-style show highlighting music videos, action sports, athletes, music and intense lifestyle activities. This opportunity gave Bryan another chance on camera and he hosted Xtreem TV for a few years. Developing the content for this program eventually lead to a film division collaborating on and producing various music videos, action sports films, documentaries and a short film called Small Change in 2002. Over the years, GRN’s film division has completed production of multiple action sports films, music videos, documentaries, a Children’s Education Video series Tails of Abbygail and 2 full-length Feature Comedy Films The Cost of Living and Forbidden Fruit.
As the GRN events, TV and Film divisions great so did the music division. Producing all of these live music events gave great positioning for Bryan’s bands to play more gigs. Bryan began to see his passion for mentoring and helping other people become a reality and he began coaching musicians, bands, athletes, filmmakers etc on how to shape their craft and sharpen their business side of being an entrepreneur. “I think that a lot of artists are so heavily blessed with creative talent that they either don’t want to or don’t know how to explore the business side. In my option, to be successful as an artist it is vitally important that there is a balance to the business side. Some people need to partner with that role, have an agent, manager etc and others are able to play that role themselves. It is hard to see the mistakes you are making or steps you are missing when you are inside the project looking out. If people are seeking guidance and have a coachable spirit then I am honored to help and donate this time/knowledge to helping others elevate their trade/craft.” – BG
Producing events, developing artists and running companies put an immediate need for marketing, promotions and street teams. This is what conceived the Marketing division of GRN. In 2003, Bryan broke into the affiliate marketing world and began building online marketing franchises with the Quixtar Corporation. This proved to be successful due to the shift in trends with the Internet and also a great tool for other aspiring artists/entrepreneurs to use as an additional revenue stream and networking pool.
Bryan began expanding different division of GRN to Vancouver BC and various areas of the United States in 2003. Grassroots business began to slowly expand throughout different states eventually resulting in Bryan getting a 2nd home in beautiful San Diego, CA in 2008. This marked the launch of a west coast expansion while living dual-residence from Kirkland, WA. In 2009, Bryan made the shift to living in San Diego full time and it has proved to be the ideal city for both Bryan and GRN.
Bryan’s number 1 passion is unquestionably music. “I love listening to music, seeing live performance, writing, producing and performing. Music is the best element to help me change a mood or prepare my mind/heart/soul for something. Over the years, Bryan has played percussion with the groups Ascention (1991), Toy Soldier (1993), Jet (1994), Sammarium (1995), Relic (1997), Negative 7 (formerly Relic 1998) and currently with IDLEMINE (2003) and Pianotarium (2009). Over the years, Bryan’s performances have shared stages with members/groups such as Alien Ant Farm, Papa Roach, Disturbed, Lit, Guns-n-Roses, Sevendust, P.O.D., Korn and more.
Bryan’s mission in life is to inspire, impact, move and challenge others. He has chosen to use music and business to do so. He has built the Grassroots Community as a nucleus to reach people. Bryan has studied both personal and professional growth since 1999 and dedicates a large portion of his time mentoring others. Mentorship is an engraved part of Grassroots business model and is attached to everyone and every project they work with.
